I’ve started MKS-Graphics in 2015. Back then, purchasing templates online was basically russian roulette. You’d either get a template that would somewhat fit, or you’d get an absolute lemon with missing parts, scaled wrong or not even for the correct model.

Just like other MX graphics companies back then, this affected us as well, since we couldn’t rely on the templates that we purchased. Only after creating and manufacturing the graphics and when it was in the hands of the customer, would we find out if they were good or not. No surprises there, more often than not they were crap.

So, the only thing left to do was to make the templates ourselves, which started somewhere in 2017 I believe. Time consuming and often somewhat inconvenient for our customers as he or she had to bring the bike to our shop, but at least they’d get decals with a perfect fit, and we had another satisfied customer.

In the beginning we didn’t really want to share our templates because we figured that we’d have an edge over our competitors, but we quickly realized that the demand for good templates was pretty large, so we offered them for sale. One thing led to another, and within a few months a lot of companies basically didn’t want to purchase their templates anywhere else except from us.

Now, roughly 7 years later, we’ve become the to-go place for templates for anyone who’s serious about their craft.

The only reason that we’ve become successful in this niche, is because of the fact that I still make every template myself, and run MKS-Graphics together with my girlfriend. Although we do have a couple of templates from older models for sale that have been made by a different creator (who was and still is a good customer of ours), 99% of everything that we sell has been made and tested by me. This is the only way that I can be 100% sure that the quality is top notch and that our customers always get the best possible product. Of course, over the years, I've gotten better at what I do and have improved my templates.

Unfortunately, bad actors have taken notice, and since the internet is the wild west, we’re suffering heavily from people redistributing and reselling our templates. We also have our fair share of copycats, copying everything we do, down to our website, our disclaimers, texts and even our Template Creator Program.

To ensure that we can keep on doing this, it is important for us to educate our customers. We try to do this by outing all the bad actors out there, and showing our customers where not to go for their templates. We are all in for some good competition, as this is also favorable for our customers, but outright theft is where we draw the line, as this can potentially put an end to our efforts.
